YES YES YES IT'S A YES!

OMG - talk about hitting brick walls around every corner!  Now most of you know the journey we've had with attempting to get our planning permission for the studio.  We had the misforutne of dealing with some woman that didn't really have a clue as to what she was doing (note - she is gone now so I can say that!).  After several rude phone calls and our application being handed over to someone else - we finally received the planning permission.  I bet some of you know what I'm talking about!

That was enough to get most people to stop in their tracks......

BUT NOT ME!

I'm either really brave or really stubborn - and I know which one my husband and parents would choose.  Still I don't believe being stubborn is such a bad thing!  It has got me where I am today :)

Our second obstacle was finances - now we had a lovely little pot of funds to put towards the studio refurbishment, however as the council took forever and Paul being made redundant that little pot of money had to be used to live on......

So....

I crawled with my tail between my legs into the bank to request a loan to help us with the renovations of the studio - and was eagerly turned down - however I will say that Barclays - thank you for your help and suggestions of the government funding opportunities available....

Now don't get me wrong - I cried my eyes out, feeling like the world was against us and how dreams were about to come crashing down on our heads and all I could think about was how were we going to pay our bills if we couldn't reach more clients etc.  Every nightmare thought was going through my head until a friend online slapped me around the head for being so negative and showing me the error of my way.  The Universe had another plan - and I was to trust it....

I checked out all the information Barclays gave us.  We weren't eligble with some companies but one company was prepared to look at our file.....

AND....

We now have all the funding we need at MUCH better interest rates so the bank did us a favour!

It hasn't been the easiest month with me having to take speed courses in creating business plans, cashflow forecasts and personal survival budgets and showing the finance company how we intent to pay them back!

It has all been worth it - as of today we have received confirmation that the loan has been approved!  (sadly I can't do a backflip on the screen - but that's seriously how I feel)

Had it not been for me being so stubborn - I would have quit ages ago.  Yes there is still a lot of work that needs to be done...but step by step we are building our dream and building our lives....to live it the way WE want to live it.

It's amazing how much more special something is when you've had to fight for it!

It reminded me and Paul of our Wedding day.  We had to get permission from the South African Home Office to get married (incase Paul wanted to marry me for my passport....yes.... seriously......I pointed out that it was the other way round and they didn't find it funny!) We received said permission at 15:30 on the Tuesday - the day before our wedding!

We will treasure the journey we've been on to get this far and excited about what lies ahead.

As scarey as it is, we know this is what we want to do.  In order for us to help MORE people, we need a facility.  There are so many things we want to do for our clients - and can't wait to get in and started!

If at first you don't get what you want....DON'T GIVE UP! the Universe is testing you :)  and if at second you still don't get what you want..then you need to be looking at what you're asking for.  Some people think they're asking for one thing, when in fact they've been sending out messages for totally the opposite!

PS....this is cliche - BUT it's so very true..

IT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU THAT MATTERS - IT'S HOW YOU DEAL WITH IT :)

Warmest Hugs
